GYRE arrived on Station C14 at 4:19 GMT on June 1, 2000 and we finished all sampling at 5:06 GMT on June 2, 2000. Station C14 is 2500 m in depth and located on the deep slope just above the escarpment and West of the Mississippi Trough. The boxcores all consisted of soft mud and three brittlestars were found in one of the boxcores. All of the bottom pictures taken at this station were quite murky. The trawl came up with some burrowing invertebrates (and imploded floats) but without any fish.
