GYRE arrived on Station RW6 at 7:25 GMT on May 18, 2000 and finished all sampling at 9:28 GMT on May 19, 2000. This station is located on the Alaminos Canyon delta and is 3000 meters deep. We planned to trawl to this station from the last station but we were unable to do so due to large swells that repeatedly rushed over the stern of the Gyre. After the CTD, Boxcores, and camera tow we put out the trawl net but unfortunately lost the net and the doors due to a snapped cable.

Chris Gudeman, Roe Davenport, and Wonchoel Lee are recovering mud samples from the boxcore.
